A Historic Legacy in Seafood Excellence Since 1927

Established in 1927 by Luciano Sabella and his son Antone, Sabella & La Torre (originally called A Sabella) stands as one of the original Fisherman's Wharf restaurants still thriving today. Hailing from the fishing town of Siacca in Sicily, Luciano wasted no time applying his expertise to the bustling seafood scene of San Francisco. Opening A Sabella in 1927, he initially sold crabs and other fresh catches to eager customers, laying the foundation for a lasting culinary legacy.

Expanding Horizons

Following World War II, Antone made the pivotal decision to pass the torch to his brothers, Frank and Michael Sabella, and his nephews, Toni and Louis La Torre. Together, they transformed the humble crab stand into a full-service restaurant, catering to the evolving tastes of locals and tourists alike. As the years went by, Sabella & La Torre grew in both reputation and scale, becoming a beloved fixture of the Fisherman's Wharf dining scene.
